# Product catalog

*The product catalog brings together all the objects that can be added to your plans and that affect the estimate.*\
*You can access it directly from your Workspace by clicking on **"Product catalog"**.*

{% hint style="warning" %}
The product catalog is only available with a subscription **Integral** or **Business subscription.**

To add a product to your catalog:&#x20;

1. Click on the "**Add a product**"
2. To find a product, use the search bar or select a category from the list on the left of the menu.
3. View the products in the selected category on the right side of the menu, then use your mouse wheel to scroll through the list and select the product you want.
4. Once the product is selected, click the "**Create**" located at the top right.

{% hint style="danger" %}
**If you uncheck the boxes** "Visuary default equipment" and "Visuary default Furnishings" at the top of the screen, **these products will no longer be visible on your projects and plans**.
{% endhint %}

### Customize a product

Edit a product's characteristics:&#x20;

1. **Start by adding a product or duplicating it** : to duplicate it, select the product you want, then click the "Duplicate" button located at the top right of the selection menu.
2. All fields are now editable:
   1. From the "**General**" you can edit:&#x20;
      * The product name
      * The category
      * The model
      * The brand
      * The product description
   2. From the "**Options**" you can:&#x20;
      * Edit the option names and prices
      * The first choice for each option is always the default. This choice will automatically appear on your project and on your estimate if no other choice has been intentionally selected on the plan
      * You can add extra options or choices: they will have no 3D impact, but can be selected on your plans and will affect your estimates.
   3. From the "**Dimension**" you can:&#x20;
      * Edit the product's original dimensions
      * Edit the default placement height
      * Enable the "Resizable Object / Element" feature by specifying the dimension range for width, depth, and height

### Edit a product's price

Edit a product's price from the Product catalog:

1. On the home page, click **Product catalog** on the left side of the screen
2. In the product categories, **search for the product whose price you want to edit**
3. **Click on a product** to open the associated product sheet.
4. Click the button **"Duplicate"**
5. You can **enter the prices** for the product (travel, removal, sales, purchase and Installation prices) by clicking on the text fields **"To estimate"**
6. Also rename the product so you can find it more easily in your project&#x20;
7. Click the button **"Save"** to save your changes
8. Place this product copy in your project and you will see the corresponding line appear&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
The prices to enter for each product are tax included, with a default VAT of 10%. If needed, you can adjust this VAT rate in your account settings.\

### Create custom windows

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZFcDkdPcFkKsLAju8DW3%2Fuploads%2FS17F3iHTHMBPNQKYWZPK%2Ffenetre_sur-mesure.mp4?alt=media&token=d7dd1652-9dd5-421d-895b-66944a886f69>" %}

Create custom windows:

1. Click on the "**Add a product**"&#x20;
2. Click the "**Window**"
3. Define the main characteristics:
   * Window type
   * Number of panels, dimensions, and opening types
   * Sill height and type (if applicable)
   * Type of muntins (if applicable)
   * Interior and exterior colors
   * Type and color of the guardrail (if applicable)
4. Click on the "**Generate**"&#x20;
5. Click on the "**Create**" to save the product creation and make it available in your catalog so you can add it to your plans
6. You can then complete the product's characteristics by following this guide: click [**here**](#personnaliser-un-produit)
7. Save your changes by clicking the "**Save**"

### Add a product from scratch

To add a product from scratch, follow the same procedure as for the[adding a product based on a Visuary model](#ajouter-un-produit-a-votre-catalogue) with the difference that you will select the option "**Without a model**" instead of choosing an existing model.&#x20;

You will then need to configure the product entirely.\
Key steps include the**addition of a 3D model compatible with Visuary (.glb format)** and defining the dimensions.

<figure><img src="/files/dc93b347c2f908e893ad45446b1ff518c108f315" alt="Importer un fichier .GLB dans Visuary"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

\
Once your 3D file is loaded:

1. Switch to 3D view mode in the Object / Element configuration menu.
2. Then click the three dots to automatically import the dimensions directly from those of your 3D Object / Element.

<details>

<summary>Expand this menu to learn more about creating a 3D Object / Element</summary>

Visuary uses the format **.glb** to integrate 3D models into its platform. If you want to import your own creations, here are some best practices and steps to follow to ensure an optimal Render and fast loading.

* **Use the right tool for Export**\
  To export your models to the .glb format, you can use software like **Blender** (free and very comprehensive) or other compatible 3D tools. We particularly recommend Blender, as it offers a powerful .glb exporter, and it is also the tool we use.
* **Optimize your 3D model before Export**\
  The main factor to optimize for the web is the **.glb file size**. Indeed, this file has to be downloaded by users, and a file that is too large can lead to long loading times and a degraded user experience. Most assets used on Visuary are **less than 1 MB**, and the most complex ones rarely reach **2 or 3 MB**.\
  **Tips for reducing your file size:**
  * **Work on your textures:**
    * Convert your textures to **WebP** or **JPG**, which offer an excellent quality-to-size ratio.
    * Remove unnecessary textures and **normal maps** if their visual impact is too small to justify their size.
    * Avoid using textures larger than **2048x2048 pixels**, as they significantly increase the file size.
    * Prefer using multiple materials with repeating textures (tiling) rather than a single texture atlas. This provides better texel resolution while keeping the file size down.
  * **Simplify the geometry:**\
    Reduce the number of polygons as much as possible, without compromising the model's visual quality.
  * **Enable Draco compression:**\
    If your export software allows it, enable the **Draco compression**.
* **Test and fix your Export.**

Here are some steps to follow if your model does not display correctly in Visuary:

* Re-import your .glb file into your 3D software to check that it works properly.
* Read the documentation carefully on Export to the **gltf/glb** format in your software. This format imposes certain restrictions, especially on texture mapping and other technical aspects.
* Prepare your models to avoid incompatibilities. A simple conversion from a format (.fbx, .obj, or worse, a CAD format) without prior adjustments is unlikely to work properly the first time.

\
Importing your own 3D objects / elements into Visuary takes a bit of preparation, but these steps will help you obtain optimized models suited to the web. By following these recommendations, you will ensure a smooth experience while maintaining a quality visual Render.

Don't hesitate to test several configurations and refine your Export to find the best balance between visual quality and performance.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.visuary.com/guide-visuary-en/visuary-interface/product-catalog.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
