Apply a Finish / Covering on the floor plan:&#x20;

1. Click the button **Coverings**
2. **Select a Finish / Covering** among the suggested categories (Floor, Walls, Ceiling, Skirting boards)
3. Switch to **3D view**
4. **Click on the places where you want to apply the Finish / Covering**
5. Click on **Finish**

{% hint style="warning" %}
**The naming of rooms is directly linked to adding finishes / coverings.** Indeed, the available finishes / coverings will not be the same depending on the room type.\
For example: **if one of your rooms is named Duct, you will not be able to apply any Finish / Covering to it** because red lines will appear when you hover over this room with the mouse.

To save time, you can apply a Finish / Covering on several surfaces at the same time:

Adding Finish / Covering to skirting boards works differently; you can choose to apply the floor Finish / Covering, wall Finish / Covering, or the default Finish / Covering:&#x20;

Apply a Wall finish on part of the wall vertically:&#x20;

1. Click on **Walls** and select the **Divider**
2. Add a **small divider segment** where you want to cut the wall and by stretching it slightly inward toward the room
3. Click the button **Coverings**
4. Select a Wall finish and switch to **3D view** to apply it to the split wall section
5. Click on **Finish**

Add a Wall finish on part of the wall horizontally:&#x20;

1. Click the button **Coverings**
2. Select a Wall finish
3. Click on **See more** in the Finish / Covering selection box: \
   \- manually enter **its Placement height** (in cm) \
   \- manually enter **its height** (in cm)
4. **Switch to 3D view** and **click on the walls** to apply the Finish / Covering
5. Click on **Finish**

{% hint style="info" %}

* **The height** corresponds to the size of the Finish / Covering itself, that is, how far it goes up the wall. In practical terms, it is the vertical dimension of the Finish / Covering.
* **The Placement height** corresponds to the distance between the floor and the start of the Finish / Covering.

\
This technique notably allows you to create a Border tile / Frieze in wall tile. To learn more about the Finish / Covering in the bathroom, click [**here**](#les-revetements-dans-la-salle-de-bain)**.**
{% endhint %}

<h3 align="center">Change the orientation of a Finish / Covering</h3>

For floor finishes and wall finishes, **you can change their orientation, which will affect the positioning angle** of the Finish / Covering and therefore change its overall appearance.<br>

#### The orientation of wall finishes&#x20;

There are 3 different orientations for wall finishes: 0°, 90° or 180°. You can select the desired orientation before applying the Finish / Covering to your walls.

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZFcDkdPcFkKsLAju8DW3%2Fuploads%2FsVhFVFS5VwSJcE8HrHfF%2Fhauteur_rev.mp4?alt=media&token=0cc6a97c-f939-452d-91cd-d4a075f1a60a>" %}

#### The orientation of floor finishes

For floor finishes, you are free to choose the orientation of the Finish / Covering by changing it from 0° to 360°.&#x20;

To do this, just use the slider to select the desired orientation before applying the Finish / Covering to your floor plan:&#x20;

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZFcDkdPcFkKsLAju8DW3%2Fuploads%2FEsgTelGDJASNTofvZx8M%2Forientation_rev_sol.mp4?alt=media&token=7f51741e-e368-49dc-9a3b-c523886a4913>" %}

<h3 align="center">The finishes / coverings in the bathroom</h3>

#### Change the Sanitary tile in the Wet room

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZFcDkdPcFkKsLAju8DW3%2Fuploads%2F7yyrEqNd26LOcfMwYcT4%2Ffaience_piece.mp4?alt=media&token=15129755-dd1e-45cf-89a1-554c0a7677fb>" %}

To change this Wall tile, follow these steps:&#x20;

1. Position yourself **in 2D view**
2. Click on the bathroom floor to **select the room**
3. In the menu that opens on the left, click "**Replace with**" in the section **Wall tile** : you can then choose another Finish / Covering.

{% hint style="info" %}
**The room's Wall tile is automatically applied to certain Objects / Elements**, you can change this by selecting the relevant Object / Element, then going to its customization menu. \
Click [**here**](/guide-visuary-en/the-plan/the-objects.md#personnaliser-un-objet) to learn more
{% endhint %}

#### Apply 2 wall tile models on the same wall

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZFcDkdPcFkKsLAju8DW3%2Fuploads%2F4KiQtbUabDf5Y5yvLgQY%2FCopy%20of%202faiences_rev.mp4?alt=media&token=34aab525-0507-4323-8fcd-09c68bef304b>" %}

**Step 1:**&#x20;

* Start by switching to 2D view then select your room to bring up the menu on the left.
* Select the wall tile model that suits you and activate 3D view mode to better visualize the changes.
* Tick the box **Wall tile on all walls**, so that it applies to the entire room.

**Step 2:**&#x20;

* Click on the menu **Coverings**, on the left of your screen, then go to the tab **Walls**
* Select the wall tile that will be applied to the upper part of your room
* Then click on **See** **more**, to enter the Placement height of the Border tile / Frieze
* Switch to 3D view mode, then click on all the walls in the room to apply the wall tile.&#x20;
* Click on **Finish**

As you can see, this step makes the wall tile added to the walls in step 1 disappear, but this step is still necessary.&#x20;

**Step 3:**&#x20;

* Go back to the tab **Coverings**, and look for the wall tile chosen in the first step.
* Select it and remember to **remove its Placement height** so that it starts directly from the floor.&#x20;
* Apply the wall tile by clicking on the Dado / Lower wall section so that the wall tile applied to the upper part remains intact.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.visuary.com/guide-visuary-en/visualization/the-coverings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
