# Walls

**Draw a plan, a room, or a partition wall:**

1. Click the button **Walls**
2. Select a **boundary type** from the different wall types, the floor boundary, or the outer boundaries
3. Click the plan area to start drawing. Change direction at each corner to create your walls. Repeat until all your walls are connected.&#x20;
4. Once drawn, click a wall to select it and use the arrows to adjust it.
5. Click "Finish"

#### Create a wall with the right dimensions using the numeric keypad

To create a wall with a preset dimension:

1. Click the button "**Walls**" and select the desired wall type.
2. Click the checkered background of the interface to **set the wall start point**.
3. **Enter the desired length using your numeric keypad**. The wall will automatically adjust to the indicated dimension.&#x20;
4. Click the checkered background of the interface again to confirm and set the wall's position.

### Change the wall type

Modify the wall type on the plan

Modify the wall type after drawing the plan or the Scan:&#x20;

1. **Click a wall** to select it
2. In **"wall types"**, click the**down arrow icon** to open the drop-down menu, then select the desired wall type
3. In "**Templates**" click on "**Replace** **with**" to find the desired material
4. Close the menu by clicking the arrow at the top left

#### Change a load-bearing wall's thickness

To change a load-bearing wall's thickness:

1. **Click a load-bearing wall** to select it
2. Enter the desired thickness in the text field **"Thickness (cm)"**
3. Close the menu again by clicking the arrow at the top left

**Save time by selecting several walls at once:**

1. **Click a wall** to select it
2. Press the **“Shift”/”MAJ”** key on your keyboard
3. **While holding the key down**, **select the other walls** you want to modify by clicking them.

To change a partition wall's thickness:

1. **Click a partition wall** to select it
2. In the **"Models"**, click **"Replace with"**
3. Select the partition wall model matching the desired thickness
4. Click **"Finish"**

### Change a wall model

1. **Click a wall** to select it
2. In the **"Models"**, click **"Replace with"**
   1. Choose the model suited to the material making up the wall
   2. Click **"Finish"**

### Add insulation

To add insulation:

1. Click the button **Walls**
2. Click **"Insulation layer"**
3. With your mouse, click the wall faces where you want to apply the insulation.
4. To **change the type of insulation**, click a wall to select it, then in the "Left insulation" and "Right insulation" sections, click the button **"Add insulation":** select the desired insulation model.
5. Click **"Finish"**

### Separate a space without partitioning it

To separate a space without partitioning it:&#x20;

1. Click the button "**Walls**"
2. Select the "**Divider**"
3. **Position each end against a wall or another divider, to close the space.**

### Create a bar partition wall / a low wall

To create a bar partition wall or a low wall:&#x20;

1. Click "**Objects**"
2. Search for "**bar partition wall**" or "**bench**": the bench offers more flexibility in terms of dimensions
3. Place the Object / Element on the plan; then you can resize it

You won't be able to add a covering to them. However, the "room wall tile" option can be applied to the bench in wet rooms. \

### Change wall anchor

1. **Click a wall** to select it
2. Choose the wall anchor from the 3 following options:
   1. **Interior side** : the wall thickens toward the outside of the room.
   2. **Exterior side** : the wall thickens toward the inside of the room.
   3. **Symmetrical** : the thickness is split on both sides.

By default, the partition walls of the Scan have the wall anchor on the interior side. So you can change their thickness without changing the room area.

### Check the wall junction between walls

When a room is not recognized, it is usually because the wall junction between the walls is incorrect.

#### Some rooms are not recognised

Some rooms on the floor plan are not recognised

If a room is cross-hatched, with no area displayed or ability to add elements:

1. Zoom in as much as possible on the floor plan and look at each wall corner to check the Wall junctions; sometimes the walls seem well connected, but that is not always the case.
2. **Adjust the wall positions** to correct their Wall junctions until the **room area is shown in white**, a sign that it is recognised again.

#### The room area seems incorrect or does not appear:

The room area seems incorrect

If a room's area seems incorrect even though the room is correctly detected:

1. **Hover over the Zone with your mouse** to highlight it in grey and view the full Zone.
2. **Zoom in as much as possible** on the plan to adjust the position of the walls and **correct their Wall junctions**. The Zone will then be automatically split into two separate spaces.
