# Tiling

*Get all your areas and linear measurements in minutes — floor, baseboards — without measuring by hand.*

## The Scan

**With an iPhone Pro (12 or later) or an iPad Pro (2020 or later), carry out an accurate Survey / Measurement to 98% in minutes.**

1. Open Visuary and tap **New scan**&#x20;
2. Move your device around the space following the on-screen instructions, scan up to 40 m² before moving to the next Zone.
3. Tap the Camera icon to **photograph constraints** (obstacles, thresholds, removal of existing items, etc.) — the photo will be automatically positioned on the plan
4. Press and hold to **leave an audio comment** on the **things to watch and work to plan**
5. Finalize your Scan to access the dimensions and quantity takeoff for the Survey / Measurement

Once your scan is completed, **rename your project** to find it more easily by clicking the 3 dots at the top right in the app or on the project name directly in the browser.

## Retrieve surfaces

Once the Scan is complete, find your project on Visuary (visuary.app) from your computer or tablet — the plan is automatically synced.

Once the project is open:&#x20;

1. Switch to Scan view: click on **each wall to view its individual area**, **untick** the openings to get the **net area to be tiled** for each wall
2. <mark style="background-color:yellow;">Open Existing floor plan → Quantity takeoff to find by room and overall:</mark>
   * Floor areas in m²
   * Wall surfaces in m²
   * Linear meter of skirting boards in linear meters
   * Surfaces of the Finish / Covering applied on the plan
3. Switch to 3D view to see the default finishes applied — tiles in wet rooms, carpet in dry rooms. These finishes are listed in the Quantity takeoff.

## Apply your tile&#x20;

On the Renovation floor plan, apply your tile over the default finishes to refine your Quantity takeoff and view the Render.

1. Switch to the Renovation floor plan tab&#x20;
2. Select the Finish / Covering tool → floor&#x20;
3. Switch to 3D view and apply the Finish / Covering to the floor by clicking on it
4. Select the Finish / Covering tool → walls&#x20;
5. Switch to 3D view and apply the wall tile by clicking on the wall&#x20;
6. Retrieve the surface area of each Finish / Covering applied in the Quantity takeoff.

Adding Finish / Covering to skirting boards works differently; you can choose to apply the floor Finish / Covering, wall Finish / Covering, or the default Finish / Covering:&#x20;

## Create a reference plan

From the 2D plan, annotate the Zone areas directly to prepare the installation or pass instructions to your team or supplier. Review your comments from the Location pins and turn key points into text annotations so they are readable directly on the plan.

1. Review your comments from the Location pins on the plan
2. Annotate constraints in red — "Screed to be planned", "Removal / Demolition of floating parquet flooring"
3. Annotate instructions in green — "Threshold strip" at the front door
4. You can also add Dimensions visible from the Annotation tool — they will appear in the PDF report if the Measurement lines layer is enabled.
5. Click the PDF report to choose the views and download the plan as a PDF
