1. Open Visuary and tap **New scan**&#x20;
2. Move your device around the space following the on-screen instructions, scan up to 40 m² before moving to the next Zone.
3. Tap the Camera icon to **photograph constraints** (asbestos, lead, damp...) — the photo will be automatically placed on the floor plan
4. Press and hold to **leave an audio comment** on the **key points to note**
5. Finalize your Scan to access the dimensions and quantity takeoff for the Survey / Measurement

## Retrieve surfaces

Once the Scan is complete, find your project on Visuary (visuary.app) from your computer or tablet — the plan is automatically synced.

{% hint style="success" %}
Once your scan is completed, **rename your project** to find it more easily by clicking the 3 dots at the top right in the app or on the project name directly in the browser.
{% endhint %}

<table data-view="cards"><thead><tr><th></th><th data-hidden data-card-target data-type="content-ref"></th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>If you can't find your Scan?</td><td><a href="/pages/cc116c47994efce0499a29c957bac40f3f5904f2#je-ne-retrouve-pas-ma-capture">/pages/cc116c47994efce0499a29c957bac40f3f5904f2#je-ne-retrouve-pas-ma-capture</a></td></tr></tbody></table>

Retrieve a project's areas
{% endembed %}

Once the project is open:

1. Open the Scan tab to <mark style="background-color:yellow;">view the areas and dimensions of each wall and opening</mark>
2. On the Existing floor plan, <mark style="background-color:yellow;">click on the floor of a room to rename it as needed.</mark>\ <mark style="background-color:yellow;">"West-facing living room", or "P1"</mark>
3. Open Existing floor plan → Quantity takeoff to find by room and overall:
   * <mark style="background-color:yellow;">Floor, wall and ceiling areas in m²</mark>
   * <mark style="background-color:yellow;">Ceiling height and volume in m³</mark>
4. Click on a wall to enter its type and thickness — the quantity takeoff is updated automatically

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZFcDkdPcFkKsLAju8DW3%2Fuploads%2F2TQ5PnhjHWSibyuFGd2o%2Ftype_de_murs.mp4?alt=media&token=1d2a27ce-2c80-4d53-b1c0-2c4424e1a129>" %}
Modify the wall type on the plan
{% endembed %}

Modify the wall type after drawing the plan or the Scan:&#x20;

1. **Click a wall** to select it
2. In **"wall types"**, click the**down arrow icon** to open the drop-down menu, then select the desired wall type
3. In "**Templates**" click on "**Replace** **with**" to find the desired material
4. Close the menu by clicking the arrow at the top left

## Export the Thermal envelope

<mark style="background-color:yellow;">**With the Intégral subscription, you can export the Thermal envelope:**</mark>\
From the plan, review your comments to fill in the characteristics of the walls and openings.

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZFcDkdPcFkKsLAju8DW3%2Fuploads%2FkqNiXTI6oBBSPsSM9apx%2FDiag_csv.mp4?alt=media&token=bce41444-a62d-4f61-9b1b-c8940a7c4b1b>" %}
Fill in the characteristics of the Dwelling / Housing unit and export the heat-loss areas
{% endembed %}

1. Click on each opening: enter the glazing type, the material and the performance
2. Click on each Load-bearing wall — select the type and enter the thickness and Insulation in the side panel
3. Orient the plan with the compass rose — Tools > Settings > compass rose to orient
4. Export via the three dots → Exports → heat-loss surface export (CSV)

***Example of heat-loss surface export:*** \
\
⚠️ To generate this export, you must have filled in the orientation of the plan and the characteristics of your walls.

{% hint style="warning" icon="user-question" %}
💡 The CSV contains for each wall: type, orientation, area, Dimensions and opening characteristics — ready to copy into your professional software.\

## Create a reference plan

From the 2D plan, review your comment markers and transfer the key points to note into text annotations so they are readable directly on the plan.

{% embed url="<https://files.gitbook.com/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FZFcDkdPcFkKsLAju8DW3%2Fuploads%2F9gEij5h0TuxcnS2BXBLQ%2FDiag_plan_reperage.mp4?alt=media&token=d80fef49-0b64-4672-a6c0-51b78e05b131>" %}
Create a reference plan
{% endembed %}

1. Review your comments from the Location pins on the plan
2. Add a text annotation for each affected zone — "Asbestos zone", "Load-bearing wall"
3. Use colours to differentiate the types of information — red for anomalies, green for observations
4. You can also add Dimensions visible from the Annotation tool — they will appear in the PDF report if the Measurement lines layer is enabled.
5. Export the plan via the PDF report

<figure><img src="/files/5142d3f9e760bfe359adcfb038eb5eba2a767f9e" alt="Export du plan via le Dossier PDF"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="warning" icon="lightbulb" %}
&#x20;The PDF report also includes a comments page with the plan and details of each Location pin.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.visuary.com/guide-visuary-en/depending-on-your-trade/diagnostic-audit.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
